Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education was established during the academic year 1993-94. Aditanar Educational Institution, a registered society, administers this self financing Professional College of Physical Education. Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan a multifaceted personality was the Founder President of the College. Presently Thiru.S.Balasubramanian Adityan is the President of the College.
Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education is situated at Tiruchendur to Tirunelveli highway and is about 3 Kilometer from Tiruchendur Bus Stand and Railway Station. The College Campus Covers an area of 12 acres and is fully residential.
Besides the Administrative building, there are Classrooms, Library, Research block, Laboratories such as Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Biomechanics, Measurement, and Sports Training, Educational Technology, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology & Health Education, Human Performance, Sports Medicine (Physiotherapy, Athletic Care & Rehabilitation). Men’s hostel is also housed within the campus. A multipurpose international standard Indoor stadium with wooden flooring, with lighting, is located within the Campus.
A two year Master of Physical Education Degree (M.P.Ed) course was introduced in 1993, one year Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) was started in 2001(As Per the instruction of TNPESU closed the Program in the year 2021) and one year Bachelor of Physical Education degree (B.P.Ed) in 2003 and B.P.E.S three year course form 2019, with affiliation to Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. The college has been approved as “Physical Education Research Centre” from the year 2015 by TNPES University. The College has excellent modern facilities with qualified and competent faculty members. As per the guidelines of NCTE, the B.P.Ed. The course has been made as two years course from the academic year 2015-16.
